Services
Occupational Therapy can take place in a variety of settings, with personalised approaches and strategies shaped around each person’s needs, goals, and everyday life. Support may be offered with or without horses, at home, school, in the community, or out and about in meaningful everyday environments.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy supports people to participate more comfortably, confidently, and independently in the everyday activities that matter to them. This may include self-care, play, learning, emotional regulation, sensory processing, movement, routines, relationships, and participation at home, school, and in the community.
Luci offers Occupational Therapy in a warm, client-centred, and relationship-based way. Her approach recognises that every person is unique, and that meaningful support needs to be responsive to the individual, their environment, and the people around them. Luci works collaboratively with clients, families, schools, and other supports to understand what is getting in the way, what is already working well, and what strategies may help build confidence, independence, wellbeing, and participation.
Luci can provide therapy and consultation through home and school visits. Home visits allow support to be shaped around everyday routines, family life, sensory needs, regulation, self-care, play, and practical participation in the home environment. School visits support collaboration with teachers and wellbeing staff, helping strategies carry across learning, classroom routines, playground participation, transitions, and peer relationships. This helps therapy stay connected to real-life contexts, so that recommendations are practical, respectful, and meaningful.
Equine Assisted Therapy
Equine-Assisted Therapy is increasingly recognised as an evidence-informed approach that can support many aspects of development, wellbeing, and participation. It may be offered in different ways depending on the practitioner’s professional background, and can be thoughtfully incorporated into therapies such as Occupational Therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, physiotherapy, and other allied health supports.
Luci incorporates Equine-Assisted Therapy as part of her Occupational Therapy approach, where appropriate. Working alongside Luci’s own horses, with whom she has developed a deep sense of trust, familiarity, and attunement, sessions can offer meaningful opportunities to support fine and gross motor development, sensory processing, confidence, and participation. The presence of the horses and the natural environment may also support emotional regulation, co-regulation, wellbeing, and mental health through calm, relational, and experiential engagement.
Equine-assisted sessions may be available where the location and circumstances are suitable, so please check with Luci. Where this is not appropriate, bespoke Occupational Therapy can be offered across a range of other settings.
